1967, Arlen bought his first motorcycle, a 1947 Knucklehead®. Working in his own garage armed with only a spray gun and a vision, Arlen stripped his motorcycle and gave it a full custom paint job. Shortly after, Arlen entered his first custom bike show and took first place; the first of many to come. Spending the nights in his garage working on an ever-growing list of customers' bikes, Arlen realized it was time to quit his day job working for a private contractor and open a store.

Along with his son Cory, they made Arlen's Motorcycles “Ness-ecities” a huge success throughout the 80's and 90's resulting in several relocations into progressively larger stores all leading up to the 70,000 square foot facility in Dublin California. There Arlen, Cory and Zach continue to turn out amazing customs and more importantly great parts. After all, over the years Ness has continually developed new parts that allow you to have the one of a kind Ness swagger on your own machine. From the Big Sucker to billet grips, pegs or fenders and saddlebags , there is a Ness part for your bike be it a bagger or custom, metric or Harley.
