Tips to buying Harley motorcycle parts:Share on Facebook
First, it’s important to know exactly what kind of motorcycle you have: year, make and model. A blue Harley-Davidson isn’t a good answer. If you don’t know what type of bike you have, you better find out. While motorcycle parts manufacturers are constantly coming out with new parts, they aren’t necessarily made for every model or year of bike. Knowing the proper fitment for your bike is key in choosing the right parts.
Next, the type of riding you will do on the motorcycle is important. Will you be taking long trips or just putting a few miles on it every now and then? These are two very different scenarios, so the type of parts and accessories needed for your motorcycle will vary. For instance if you’re looking at saddlebags, and you’re taking a long trip, you’ll want to look at larger bags to obviously allow for more gear. If you’re going to be putting a lot of miles on your bike, you’ll also want to find a motorcycle seat that is designed for comfort rather than style.
Another important question to know beforehand, is what kind of motorcycle do you have? Is it a show bike that will be taken to various events for display or just a motorcycle you will be riding here and there? A show bike will have all the latest bells and whistles, mostly likely decked out in chrome and possibly not a comfortable ride (or even something you wouldn’t be able to ride very far).
Choosing the right retailer for those parts and accessories is also key. Regardless of whether it’s an online retailer or your local Harley dealer, it’s important to trust your source for these important purchases.
