Of course, time off from work means it's time to rest from
making a living, and begin making a life. Fortunately, that's an easy thing to
do here in Eastern Iowa. It's not unusual that many people who move in from
out-of-state are already familiar with Iowa. Perhaps they
grew up here, or know someone who did, or married an Iowan. They know that this
is a place that offers their children an outstanding education in safe schools.
Soon they will discover that in addition to having the finest farms in the
world, Eastern Iowa is a place with a wide diversity of things to see and
places to go.
State parks and natural
areas abound in the area. Go biking, hiking, camping and canoe on the
Wapsipinicon or Maquoketa Rivers. Discover bargains at summertime auction. See
the trees in a blaze of fall color. There's stock-car racing, church socials,
Fourth of July parades, fireman's pancake breakfasts, snowmobiling, golf
courses all over the place, and... well you get the picture.
Need a dose of city living once
in a while? Within an hour's drive are attractions and shopping, great theatre
and music in Cedar Rapids, Davenport, Dubuque, Waterloo and Iowa City. Get
tickets to some of the country's best collegiate and minor-league sports
nearby. Within a few hours’ drive you can also reach Chicago,
Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Des Moines and Omaha.
And that reminds us that what we love best about all those places is that we get
to come home to Anamosa and J&P Cycles®.
We think you will love it too!!
