If you're looking for a simple, quality stereo system for a Road King, this is the one. It looks and sounds fabulous. The speakers are only 4", so you aren't going to get the same volume and quality that you'd get from a full-fairing system. But, if you bought a Road King, you probably didn't want a fairing. The Bluetooth functionality is great - I can keep my phone in my saddlebag (where it belongs - plugged up to charge), and listen to music all day long. I also keep a USB thumb drive in the slot, with several gigs of music. There's also an auxiliary plug that works fine as well (but I like not having to fiddle with another device). And, you also have the radio if you're into that kind of thing. Installation was pretty easy. I removed the tank and ran the wiring in the channel along the frame, protected from the heat, elements, and any risk of chafing. mounting it to the windshield was simple as well, and I used Loctite 242 (Blue) on the screws. You may have to adjust the handlebars on your bike so the the unit has clearance, depending on your bars (I have a '14 RK with stock bars, and had to rotate them down). If you're installing this yourself and have a service manual, full tool set, and a ft-lbs torque wrench, it takes 10 minutes. Good purchase!
THIS ROCKHOODZ STEREO WAS EASY TO CONNECT AND LOVE THE SOUND AND THE BLUE TOOTH AP ALSO.. THE 12V PLUG AND THE PLUG FOR AN MP3 PLAYER ALSO
This stereo system arrived wrapped in bubble wrap and placed into a shipping box. There was no original factory box or packaging. Once unwrapping bubble wrap I noticed a couple paint chips on the speaker trim. After further inspection found that the radio was very loose in the housing. I separated the two half's and tightened up the bracket holding the radio. Instruction sheet was pretty straight forward and easy to follow, however the wiring instructions were for three wire hook up and the wire on the system was a two wire and the wire colors didn't match instruction sheet. The two wires weren't standard red and black (Hot and ground). Wires were grey and white. Installation onto the windshield was quick and easy and running the wire under the tank only required removing the rear screw to lift tank up a bit to feed wire through. On a positive side the system is louder then the two speaker handlebar mounted system I had previously. The quality of sound is a bit better as well.
This unit fits nice, sounds good for what it is, but not worth the five hundred they charge for it. Not made well enough for the price. Had to take apart to hold nut insert they put in fiberglass started spinning when put bolt in, not cross thread either just had to hold with plyers to tighten. Also why use silver bolts on a black housing sticks out like sore thumb. If had to do over wouldn't buy this system. Would spend more on better unit.
