I read the previous review, and did some further reading. Bought these for my 2015 Softail breakout. I have been looking for a "value-slip on" that not every one has, and was a little easier to live with, noise volume wise. I'm impressed! I'm not sure about any fitting issues as my mechanic fitted them, he didn't charge me too much to fit them so I guess they fitted easily. I'm running a S&S 107 big bore kit with S&S 585 cams originally with V&H 2 into 2 big radius, Can't really compare slip-on's to a full open exhaust system but I was really getting frustrated and annoyed with the V&H, which were really annoying, just got so tired of the noise. These slip-on's are neighbor (and rider) friendly at low revs. Great sound at mid- high revs. Re-dyno tuned and HP was slightly up, torque slightly down For me a good balance of performance, sound & tone and social acceptability. Parts arrived very Quickly (shipped to Australia) All in all I got what I wanted at a good price.
These are advertised as "louder" pipes. These pipes are pretty quiet. I had to take out the baffles to get it to somewhat of a level that I would expect from $360. My review is from the customer service of both Kuryakyn and JP Cycles. After being told by the rep that these were louder pipes, I decided to purchase them. The minute I got them on my bike, I started it up and knew these weren't to be considered anywhere above "mellow''. Calling both manufacturer and JP Cycles resulted in, "you bought it, they were installed, they are yours." Returns are only accepted if the part hasnt been installed. Come on, really? Unsatisfactory product and miss represented sales for $360 bucks and I am out of luck. The call center was so rude I swore I would make sure that everyone would know that you will have no respect that a customer should deserve from such expensive purchases. I would rate this 1 star, but they are pretty attractive pipes. So at least I will like looking at them.
