J&P Cycles® Document Tube for Laydown License Plate

• You probably have to keep certain forms of documentation for your bike handy to show peace officers regularly

• Valley Machine and Weld has created a good looking, easy to install “stash” tube that comes in several configurations so that it can be bolted to most license plate frames, including custom laid down versions

• The tubes offer a handy spot to keep papers dry and easy to access

• Once installed, the tube is unobtrusive and actually looks right at home among other polished accessories

• Two bolts, 1/4″ longer than stock and a little Loctite is all that is needed to complete the install

Product Specs

  • Diameter: 1″
  • Length: 6-1/2″
  • Sold in Units: Each

Note: This item is a universal/custom fit component, and does not have any direct standard/OEM model application. Some items may require modification and an advanced level of mechanical skill and/or knowledge for installation.

good looking. mounts easily. A bit hard to get open, very water proof.

Very disappointed. The web page states 6.5" long; that is the over-all length including mounting brackets. The actual length of the tube is 4" and even less once you install the two end plugs. The tube is too small for registration and proof of insurance documents.

The quality of the document tube is top-notch. It's smaller than anticipated and actually works better to stash a few extra bucks than to hold your tag papers. You'd have to roll them too small. Also, I'd rather see a cap screw instead of the o'ring plug. It makes removal of the cap a bit tedious; you end up needing to use a pair of pliers to get the leverage. Overall, I am happy with the product but I would improve on it in order to get a 5 star rating.

A little small, but seals tight.

Tube looks super on my 03 Indian Chief, ends pull out hard but if you put some WD-40 on the O-Rings the ends will come out easier.Very happy with looks and function.

Looks great under the Billet Boys lay down license plate frame. Holds copies of all my papers and some emergency cash. Inconspicuous and requires (padded) pliers and some effort to open, which is a good thing.

The ends of the document tube are nearly impossible to get off. Both ends must come off in order to get papers out. Not very happy with it.
