well made looks like it will make it through any type of weather.
For my 1997 HD Sportster 1200 Custom, I also had to switch the two non-power wires when connecting to the existing wiring. The new wires are about a foot long, so the connectors have to be cut off and the old wires cut at a convenient spot under the tank, then make the connections with crimp connectors. It has worked fine so far though, and was pretty easy to do, but no directions and the jury-rigging is disconcerting at first.
I hope this part will hold up to daily use. Bought this part only because it has a 3 position switch so the bike can be started without the headlight on. Will require moderate re-wiring.

The two striped wires were opposite of what they should be had to take it back apart and swap them to get the headlight to stay off in the Acc position. The mounting could be better the thread part is not as deep as the original.

first one I ordered was faulty, there was a dead spot between the auxiliary and start. Also a bad weld on one of the wires. I was able to exchange it for another one with no issues. Second one is working great.
Its a nice well made quality switch BUT the directions are terrible (they're none) so unless you're very familiar with wiring its difficult to install.
Have not yet installed it in my vw trike, but I feel it will do just as I have planned. Thank you for your speedy delivery.

It works. The the wires and sheath are a little stiff and can be difficult to get to lay smoothly under the tank of a Sportster.
When in OFF position Key will Fall Out When Side Mounted
The darn key falls out in the off position when you lean it onto the kickstand, wouldnt recomend!!!

Works well, but on the switch that I recieved, the wires for the "ACC" and "ON" postions are swapped. That is, the red with black wire is where the red with gray wire should be, and vice versa. Make sure you check the wiring of the switch with a ohm meter or a multimeter before installing I'm assuming that this was an assembly error, because no instructions were included.

Very easy to install, feels like good quality - the wires are even color matched. Can't beat the price, either! Installed on 99 Sportster.
The switch fits the bike and works fine. The only comment it have is as follows: The switch has the same number of wires as the original, and the same color codes on those wires. The original switch had three positions: 1.OFF, 2.Lights only, 3. Lights, instruments, ignition. The new switch also has three positions: 1.OFF, 2. Lights and ignition, 3. Lights, ignition, and instruments. HUH? Why would the instruments be switched separately from the ignition? I don't know, but the engine runs, as does everything else, so I'm happy, if confused. I put it on a Harley XLH883, it performs just fine, the workmanship is good, and I would recommend it to anyone who values their wallet over having the bike stay "original". After all, the Harley brand replacement was $120.00 versus $20.99 for the J&P switch. I can live with the confusion to save $100.
Was delivered in minimal time period. Product was good. I noticed a crack in one of the keys like a week after I got it. Called J&P and they sent me out a replacement key switch with 2 new keys with no questions or cost to me.. J&P has very excellent service and the techs are very knowledgeable about products. Thanks J&P
Not bad at all. Worked great for my kick-only project. Key is very sturdy with positive detents.
This ignition switch had my Sportster back on the road 30 minutes after I received it. Take out the old busted, put in the new replacement, switch it on and hit the starter. Even I could make it work without even trying. Now, about a month and 1500 miles later, it still works like new, and looks good too.
