Have not put it on the bike yet, backing plate is thick and looks well made.

Be sure & check the movement on the roll pins, I just got mine & it only has 1/2 the movement it should have, the roll pins were way off centered . Maybe I just got a bad one. Will send it back.

The point set provided was not of the highest quality and was replaced. However, the kit installed well and the H-D 80-80 starts better than ever (the OEM electronic ignition was replaced). I recommend the upgrade set with needle bearings. Watch for the screw length on the coverplate, so as not to short out the points due to being too long.

advance mechanism was good but points and backing plate where not. Points where junk, would not mate flat at the contacts and the backing plate slot for timeing it where not as large as the one's in the factory plate, So I used a set of NAPA points and my old backing plate and everything worked out fine.

The ball bearing advance unit works great---smooth and free. The supplied points and condenser were hardly usable. Once replaced with a quality set, the unit performed as expected. If you're interested, Echlin (NAPA) points CS-7880 and condenser RR1750 work better than any points/condenser unit I've ever found.........and I've been riding for 45 years.

As usual, the shipping was fast! Easy installation! Parts look to be very well made. Works great on my 2001 Evolution Sportster! I would recommend this product to my friends.

Everything you need is there. I had points before I switched to electronic but am switching back after I had the electronic ignition fail because I can fix points on the road (usually). It does not come with any directions, so some may need a manual for directions.

All parts were easy to install and the bike has never run better since I have owned it.
