ignition was painless to install but didnt seem to improve the performance for the 15 miles that i actually got to ride it compared to stock. and then it developed a heat related issue and would cut the bike off after it got to operating temp, and as soon as it cooled back down would start right up, endlessly. save some more money and get a better one!
Module works great. Package was missing magnet for static timing.
Just what I needed, easy to install and setup, works great.
Best move I ever made for my '77 xl. Made huge difference. NOTE: 3ohm coil required for this ign. Old bikes w/points have 5ohm.
Easy to time. Easy to install. Started right up.
I recently purchased the Compu-fire dual fire electronic ignition. Let me tell you all, after an hour and a half installation and setup, my 1980 wide glide that had been converted to points felt like a different machine. It started first shot, no coughing, no rough idle, smooth acceleration and decel. For the money, the single best move I've ever made. Thank you J & P, thank you Compu-Fire!
Love it. Set up is easy and firers right up. Thank you.
Great product. Bolted right up, just a little advance tweeking, and was running like grandmas Singer. Good price, good product.
I recently purchased the Compu Fire Dual Fire Electronic Ignition for my '73 Ironhead and I must say I wished I had bought it years ago. It rides like another bike! I used to have problems with a rough idle and with it coughing thru the carb off idle, and no matter how much I adjusted the timing or re-set the points, I couldn't fix it. However since I've installed the electronic ignition, it idles beautifully and accelerates crisply with no hesitation. Highly recommended!

Note: This system requires a 3 ohm coil, suppression spark plug wires and resistor spark plugs. The OEM components on 1970-79 models must not be used as they will cause this module to fail and void the warranty.
