good part for the money
Rotates both directions after two starts.. garbage

Worked like a charm, great price
Price and delivery were excellent but part was not properly made to fit 87 flhtc jackshaft. Original bendix had bevel tapered seat for full flush fit on jackshaft. PN 381-353 had flat bottom seat that made bendix sit 3/16 inches out from flush fit on jackshaft. This made it barely rub on clutch hub gear ring which wasn't determined until fully reassembled and test drove with whining noise from primary area. Was able to mill out bottom of new bendix for flush fit on jackshaft and no rubbing on clutch hub gear ring. New bendix now working great without whining noise. Observation offered for possible tech support review.

excellent fit, a quality item
Thickness of this part was a bit too much. It was necessary to modify/sand adjacent component in order to attach the snap ring on the shaft. Although, this is a better scenario than the bendix being too loose. The thickness overage was in the range of 0.005" to 0.008".
