I will attest that these really work! My girl and I were riding with friends and we were in front of the rider who had the whistler on his bike. A yearling was coming down the slope full speed ready to T-bone us when it heard his whistler. It literally stopped dead in its' tracks and leaped have way back up the slope! No joke! If you ride where deer populate the landscape, invest in one!
This is one of those products that you really don't know if it is working well because it is meant to scare away critters from jumping in front of you in the first place. Addition by subtraction. The Hornet is loud and you should only use it when out in a rural area. In that sense, it does work. Pretty easy to install.
it is loud but i beleave it works as intended road some heavy wooded roads and did not have any deer come out on the road, as we road by.
Just traveled through the deer country of Texas. Seen deer on side of road but never had any cross in front of me. Seems to work as advertise.
Kind of noisy at a stop or low speeds. At highway speed it is fine. The base frequency used to set up the ground wave is 5kHz, this is the reason it can be heard so well. Make sure you add a switch to it. As for testing with deer.. I wont know until later this season.
Works as advertised. I added a fuel filter to it as well as clear fuel line so I know the line is empty when I store it. Very handy IMHO.
I purchased this for the obvious reason, deer. I live in a highly deer-populated area and felt I needed something. The whistle is well made, nicely chromed, and has a nice selection of brackets and bolts to fit any bike. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is the whistle is pretty loud. You can easily hear it with the bike turned off and pretty bothersome. If your bike is really quite I would not buy it. I couldn't here it with my bike running, but its a bored-out Harley with headers. If you can put up with a high pitched whistle then go for it.
