There are 3 versions: fiber, raised silicone "bead", and silicone treated FLAT surface (this one). It will go onto the late '84 FXEF primary(OEM and after market) and will seal with little to no problem Check your outer and inner primary surfaces first: if both surfaces are flat (no recesses), this is the easiest gasket to use. IF you are fussy, apply a thin layer of adhesive on the all-fiber side before mounting. (assembly: place gasket on outer primary case, align holes with outer primary holes, insert 1 or 2 bolts, then match outer primary to inner primary using the bolts.) Second choice would be the all-fiber gasket, applying adhesive/glue on both sides. The raised-bead gasket will need additional (RV) silicone to seal your primary.
