Great quality, great sound (lot quiter at low RPMs) and performance; only wish it came with more accessories, like open end cap (more sound) and heat shields. First day melted my rain suit.
Really a beautiful pipe design. The only thing better than how it looks is how it performs. I took it out on the freeway and let it go up to high speeds and my sporty just took off and was super responsive. Love the adjustable rings and
...30 YEARS LATER?! It's about friggin' time Supertrapp®! First of all, this system deserves a five star rating. I haven't even bolted it on and still I'm certain it's going to ROCK. I'm 48 years old. I raced minis in 1977 on a YZ80D which I've had Supertrapp® Exhaust Systems on every bike I've owned YZ80D. They are the BEST performing, sounding, tunable, and IMHO,... looking muffs in the industry! ...Hands Down! So, when I found an unbeatable deal on a 2002 Custom Sportster®, who did I turn to? Imagine my disappointment when I discovered they didn't make one. I was shocked, no less. In fact, the only reason I discovered this "New" system is because I gave up on finding ANYONE who manufactured a decent system. I was for compromising on some SuperTrapp® 'slip-ons', the OEM pipes, and some custom fabrication. First of all, this system deserves a five star rating but I must admit... I haven't bolted it on yet. I haven't even purchased it. I'm writing this review literally after discovering the new system moments ago. And yet, I am certain it's going to ROCK with all my heart. More on this model later, first some history and credence for my faith in the new system. I'm 48 years old. In 1977 I was racing minis on my YZ80D for which I got a hand-me down SuperTrapp®. Actually, I sort of scrapped it from brother's YZ100 after he got a new bike but that's not important right now. I'd been eyeing that treasure since I heard the sound after he slipped one on. I just had to have it. It was sinful to let it sit ther unused. I've had Supertrapp® Exhaust System on every bike I've since. They are the BEST performing, sounding, tunable, durable, and IMHO,... looking exhausts in the industry! ...Hands Down! In truth, my opinion is a bit subjective. Aside from OEM(always replaced immediately with Supertrapp®), I haven't owned or used any competing brands. More objectively, I've ridden my friends bikes that were less fortunate and in turn, they rode mine. I was never impressed and they wanted a Supertrapp® after trying mine, without fail. I hope you're listening Supertrapp®, this is free marketing. When I found an unbeatable deal on a 2002 1200C Sportster®, who did I turn to? Imagine my disappointment when I discovered they didn't make one. I was shocked, no less. In fact, the only reason I discovered this "New" system is because I gave up on finding ANYONE who manufactured a decent system for a Sportster® With forward controls. I finally resigned to compromise: SuperTrapp® 'slip-ons', the OEM pipes, and some custom fabrication. Today, just now, I'm elated that Supertrapp® has finally heard my prayers. Nothing for the 1200C from '86-'03 and now, 30 years later Supertrapp®? ...Seriously? Bad Dog! Bad! Don't give that puppy dog... Oh alright already, I forgive you. You know I'll always love you. Just don't P on the asphalt again or you'll be off-road 'til you're Road-Ready.
This is a wonderful exhaust system. perfect fit! I wanted it in black, but it wasn't available. I professionally ceramic coated it before installation. I run it with 12 discs on my mostly stock 1200, but with a velocity stack. It sounds great, just had to play with my mixture screw, no re-jetting necessary... I chose this over Basani and D&D...
