Customer Reviews

I installed these baffles in the new V&H Straightshots I just put on my 2014 Softail Deluxe last week. The hardest part was getting the old baffles out. The "quiet" baffles slipped right in with no problem. I did put some scotch tape around the ends of the fiberglass material as that was recommended in other reviews, but had no trouble getting them in at all. The sound is great! They're not exactly quiet, but give it a nice low rumble and when I twist the throttle she growls! Definitely recommend these baffles and the delivery from JP Cycles was much faster than I expected.

 tjsoto Posted:

Very quiet in a good way but loud enough to give it that good harley sound. Made the engine run cooler with kn air filter and fp3 tuner. Highly recommended Posted:

The sound is just right, sounds the way a Harley should sound.

 robbyville Posted:

These are as described but be wary, while they take the edge off the sound you're really talking about a few db lower.JP great shipping and service as always. Install into my Python Throwbacks was a cinch, but honestly now that I know the difference is so small in levels I'm not sure that I would do it again.

 brandont723 Posted:

Easy to install. Cuts down on the noise. Didn't have to change my map.

 Rob K Posted:

Pain in the rear to install. Neutered my bike. It ran horrible, stock pipes were better than having these on. Could not get my bike over 70 mph full throttle. But it sure made my bike sound quieter than a 250. Just better off with stock baffles on the short shots.

 henrychan524 Posted:

It really helped the sound of my bike. Thanks

 Rife Posted:

Makes the Big Shot pipes sound deep and not too loud!

 Coastworld Posted:

Great sound with just the right amount of bark when you give it a fistfull

 Johnnymac65 Posted:

Have not installed yet, still loving the stock V&H SOUND!!! Posted:

Quick Delivery. Great Customer service

 Cglide Posted:

Had a problem with parts being labeled wrong , but JP's customer service quickly resolved that issue & sent the correct parts. As far as the baffles are concerned, they make the big shot duals ( also purchased from JP) sound so much better. Could not be happier with product or service. Highly recommend this product .

 CurtisKing Posted:

Order arrived on time and the product was just what I wanted and fit was prefect.

 flip501 blue Posted:

Fitted into straightshots after pulling the standard baffle. Fit perfectly using the original set screw. sound went from extremely loud to seriously loud. Plan "B". New exhaust.

 fatbob96B Posted:

Arrived ahead of schedule. Baffles are as expected. I've used them before.

 norm 1951 Posted:

These baffles toned the noise level down just right. Thanks JP

 isleta521 Posted:

Installed these in some new VH bigshots staggered. One went in easily, The other I had to file the insides of the pipe with a file to get some slag off. Mostly worried about alignment with the mounting hole. Tapped it in and got it where I could get the mounting screw. No probs. use the blue loctite to keep it tight. Posted:

Took a bit of work to install. Didn't take too long. Works as I'd hoped. Sound is just right!

 d40301 Posted:

Easy to install and work well in V&H Straight Shots installed on HD Dyna models.

 roadrunr Posted:

Easy to install and took out the harsh tinny sound, still has a nice rumble.

 andylux Posted:

The quiet baffle did exactly what I wanted it to which was to take the tinny sound out of my long shots. They leave a really nice rumble. The only disappointment was that they didn't come with mounting screws leaving you to find your own. The insulation wrapped on them is a bit tricky to get started in the pipe, but once in place made a very nice secure fit. Overall, I would highly recommend these baffles.

It really helped the sound of my bike. Thanks

 raleighwin Posted:

Wow! What a difference! I bought the Vance and Hines Big Shots and was shocked at how extremely loud they are! I took a 1200 mile weekend trip right after they were installed and could hardly take the sound> I love the pipes but they're way too loud for me. Upon returning I searched and found these baffle silencers and am I glad I did! They muffle only the annoying pitch but keep the deep roar! Now I get both the volume and roar to be heard without the chopper effect. PERFECT! I highly recommend these if you're in the same category as me.

 steveo10 Posted:

Photo is deceiving it shows two made me think I would get two

 scottwh7 Posted:

they gave the dual shots a little deeper sound. not as tinny.

 bgudgeon Posted:

easy install, perfect fit, took away the tin sound.

 Btwice Posted:

I installed these in my Vance & Hines Longshots. I had to tap them in as they were a tight fit. However, the end result is very pleasing. As had been said before, they did quiet the sound down a don't expect a big difference. But the result is a great, slightly softer rumble. I am very pleased with the results and have no complaints!

 Roylove Posted:

Definitely cut noise down at idle speeds. Not a noticeable difference when at full throttle. Bought one at J&PCYCLES and another cheaper on Amazon. They were exactly the same.

 bobdog69 Posted:

they got rid of the annoying rattle but left the roar. all in all I have to say I like the sound but the wife still thinks its to loud.

 mikekack Posted:

Fast-Fast Delivery! Toned it down a little....just enough!

 duker_255 Posted:

worth every penny, tames just enough bark to not annoy the neighbors at 2am

 rghamm Posted:

 p00psicle Posted:

This did not fit in the Shortshots Staggered slash-cut for my 09 Sportster.

 lbriggs2 Posted:

Still loud but baffle removed the sharp/crack sound..can now ride with only a small it...

 btreul Posted:

Outstanding! Thank you!

 gexgix6 Posted:

Great sound and easy install!

 mryan29 Posted:

Great product. Sounds great and gives a little kick to the bike compared to the regular straight baffles.

 stairfalls Posted:

Perfect! I Love the sound. Took out the harshness and left a nice tone.

 bparker53 Posted:

Put StraightShots on several months ago. Great improvement over OEM, but a little loud for me. Quiet baffes mellowed things out and got the sound I was looking for.

 willie4 Posted:

Takes a little time to install since you have to remove a coupe pieces of the bike to get to the pipes. Made it a little quieter but not as much as I hoped.

 one2lucky Posted:

Good overall experience. Sales associate was knowledgeable. Technical support was helpful.

 mabemd Posted:

Installed easily, no instructions included.

 iceman260 Posted:

get custom sound with great performance. easy to install.

 jerter1 Posted:

Bought these for my VTX1300. Paired them with spartpartz quiet baffles and the sound is perfect. Still loud but not too loud and cars can still hear me coming! Posted:

The baffles did not make a big difference in quieting the sound. They just took the edge off. Posted:

Nice quality and good price, highly recommended.

 jetempleton Posted:

Much better sound IMHO: less "bright" and harsh / more mellow and balanced. Much improved torque at lower range in gears too.

 mjkbrough Posted:

Easy to install sounds great!

 MAC11B2003 Posted:

These baffles don't quiet the exhaust down too much above idle, just takes away the sharp, hard-edged metallic "blat". The bike rumbles nicely at idle and still barks when you roll on the throttle, just sounds deeper and less harsh. Installation is only as big a pain as removing the heat shields and baffles. I had to remove the entire pipe from the left on my bike (2001 Road King) to get the heat shield off. Fishing the old baffles out is a pain. There was a single piece of flimsy tape that was loosely holding the packing around the new baffles. I cut it and took a small strip of duct tape and tightened the packing and retaped it. Made the baffles slide in much easier.

 careys Posted:

 gustromm Posted:

Awesome sound

 brianerin99 Posted:

The sound is deeper and more tolerable than the stock baffles but they're not easy to install on the big shot duals. The pipes and heat shields must be removed to access the screw that secures the baffle. Overall it was worth the effort.

 agm130 Posted:

Easy to install, gave the bike a more low rumble. Over all happy.

 rwebb Posted:

Put the Big Shots on new last year, great sound but stock baffle a little loud for riding with friends. Quiet baffle toned it down just enough, great throaty sound, still good response and more enjoyable to ride with groups.

 jbench1 Posted:

There were no instructions included with this product. The quiet baffles did reduce the noise level but I'm having some driveability issues with the entire exhaust system that I purchased. Your service is excellent. Thank You ! James

 heimbruch Posted:

Deeper sound - easier on your ears - same h.p. - Still make great noise during hard acceleration

 rickrak7 Posted:

Great sound. Easy to install.

 jwagaman Posted:

great baffles. quiets the bike good and adds some torque.

 foster123 Posted:

works and easy to Install

 springsteen Posted:

Slightly deeper tone . Better than the stock baffles.

 tempuskenny Posted:

I bought a used Fatboy with V&H Big Shots pipes which are WAY too loud for my taste so I bought the "quiet baffles." They are somewhat quieter but not a lot. They change the sound to something with more character, which I do like. It was worth the money.

 Rocketman78 Posted:

Easy swap-out installation. These baffles take the sharp roar out of the pipes without taking out the rumble. Still have a deep throaty sound. If you're worried about getting stopped for excessive noise you definitely need to give these baffles a try.

 bear379 Posted:

I bought the quiet baffles and they are louder than those cheap drag pipe baffles. I wish I had saved my money.
