Received exactly what I expected.
when I removed the packaging from the mufflers each muffler had small scratches and small raised bumps on the chrome. my first thought was someone had tried and returned these mufflers. my stock mufflers looked better than the new ones and they are 4 plus years old. since the mufflers had heat shields I decided to proceed. the install went well. I like the sound but they are a lot louder than the stock. I will ride them for awhile to see if I get used to them or maybe go for a different baffle. the low rating is because of the condition of the chrome, I had read of the high quality of vance&hines which i did not receive.
These mufflers sound great on my 2013 Harley Forty Eight. Was torn between getting these or a new full exhaust, decided on these hoping to save money by not needing a FuelPak/remap. Hardest part was getting the old mufflers off, otherwise installation was a breeze (1 hour to 1.5 hours for everything). They sound and look GREAT. People can actually hear me when I'm next to them now. They are plenty loud. Bike runs great (seems to be a little quicker) with these and I have not had to adjust anything. I wrapped my stock exhaust pipes in black and it looks awesome with the black heat shields. Do not hesitate to buy these mufflers as they are plenty loud, sound great, and perform great!
Can't beat V&H build quality. Slip-On's fit my FatBoy Lo perfectly and the sound fantastic. Not too loud even with the stock baffle. Only complaint was how slip-ons mount to stock bracket on bike, too many little nuts and bolts to get it mounted. Don't know if the V&H bracket would be easier but it would be something to look into before purchasing these.
Love the sound of my new Vance & Hines pipes on my 2013 Fatboy Lo
Sounds great, perfect fit. Very happy.
Very fast delivery great sound and great look!
Mufflers look and sound fantastic. Affordable alternative to a full exhaust system.
A huge improvement over stock mufflers!
First addition I made to my new 13 Fat Boy Lo, and it was a great one. I was struggling with the installation, so I decided to get help from a friend, who also struggled with the stock brackets. In the end my friend had to put a wrench to a bench grinder and shave about a 1/4 inch off to get it to fit in the tight spaces (we had a lift for the bike too, so we should of had it pretty easy). After installed, I was impressed with the sound. The mufflers add decent volume, and give a nice low rumble when cruising, and a nicer growl when accelerating. I asked my neighbors if they were too loud, and all said no, one even said he likes to make sure he is up in the morning before I leave so he can hear my bike before he starts his day. The biggest downside for me is the looks. I am really not a fan of having the narrow header pipes that blow out at the muffler, but in the picture it didn't seem to bother as much as it did once I mounted them. I am currently looking for a new full system, but in terms of slip-ons, these are an excellent way to go.
Love the pipes, sound great and not to bad to install.
Huge improvement on my fatboy lo
Hard to install, look great and sound pretty good. Had I known I would still need to order the fuel programmer I would have chosen a full set of pipes. They do work well on my 2015 fat boy lo.
They look awesome. Sad part is i have not had time to put them on yet. Will do by this weekend. I'll be sure to get back online and give a review. I'll take before and after videos with sound. Thanks.
Fit my HD Fat Boy Lo perfectly. Installed by Harley Davidson service in Bergen County NJ. Required base map/dyno . Some back pressure and pops heard when shifting gears. Self installed Vance & Hines air intake filter and cover. Seemed to help a bit with popping back pressure noise but not certain of that. Overall mostly satisfied with seeming added performance and sound increase also.
Love my new slip on's. They were a little hard to get but well worth effort. They sound great
Just came today open box they look great can't wait to put on my 2006 Dyna Lowrider bike is Concord Purple&Aztec Orange
these sound great LOUD on my 2006 Dyna Low Rider
beautiful sound ,nice shape ,
Love these...fit perfect...sound good and not super loud
Great light easy to install friends really like it
great mufflers glad I bought them it improved my horse power a lot
These slip-ons look and sound great... deep, low growl. J&P shipped them very securely, no issues there at all. One small heads up: Install should've been about 45 min or so (30 if you're faster than me), but the stock clamps off my 06 Street Bob wouldn't fit over these slip-ons without being modified. The instructions say to use V&H clamps (PN#A35HW-R) if there are any issues. They are not available on the V&H site, you have to call support and order them directly, $14 each, then wait for them to be shipped. I passed on that, modified my original t-bolt clamps and was done. Ending up taking a couple hours to complete instead. Still happy with the purchase. Like I said, the slip-ons themselves are dynamite.
BOY OH BOY..have been wanting these for quite awhile. Installed on a 2002 FXDX with carb...about an hour to install, and it woke this old girl up..Runs like a hotrod now with a huge increase in pulling power
Good sound, simple install. I recommend you purchase the clamps from your local dealer, as this product does not come with the clamps only heat shield clamps.
The mufflers are easy to install and the sound is fantasic.
Mufflers came in but the installation instructions recommend you get the v&h clamps. They were right, however, they aren't available through JP. Called factory direct and bought the clamps from them. What should have been about a 45 minute change over took over a week. Either V&H should supply the clamps with the product or JP should carry them.
Great exhaust very pleased
I was a little disappointed that these mufflers did not come with the header pipe heat shields. . .my fault for not reading the description completely. I have chrome on my 09 Fatbob and wanted to go all black. . .I bought the black mufflers and installed them behind the stock chrome header shields and actually I think I really like the chrome/black look. The install was fairly simple, though I did have a difficult time getting my original muffler clamps over the front end of the new mufflers. After making sure all nuts were tight, I started the bike. It started right up, quicker (with only 2 cranks of the starter) than it has before. I gave the bike a quick run up and down the highway close to the house and noticed a smoother throttle response and perhaps a little more power (though that is difficult for me to tell). The mufflers are loud, not too loud but loader than the punched out stock mufflers that I took off. I really like the sound, it definitely has a noticeable "growl" going through the gears. If you're like me, wanting to upgrade from your stock exhaust but just not able to spend $700 give these mufflers a try. You won't be disappointed. Ride Safe!!!
