I ride 2005 FXSTS. I bought the riser set to make a change from the stock front look. Risers have a real nice finish BUT they don't clear the nacel. I live outside USA and decided I would keep the parts instead of sending them back to US. I went to a local machine shop and got ¼" thick x 1½" o.d. spacer to fit between the riser pole and the lower rubber isolator. Risers now cleared the nacel but still hit the speedometer. I fix this last problem by addind spacers to the fork stoppers - can't use the fork lock anymore. Cable lenght is ok, brake hose a little tight though. These risers add a unique touch to the springer front end, I just wished they'd be bolt-on as I expected.
I just wanted to share my experience with this product. I have a 2005 FLSTSCI and wanted a different look. These risers look excellent on the bike. They were very easy to change out. The stock handle bars, risers and fork leg studs needed to be removed. No problem with basic shop tools. Thread the dogbone risers into the holes taking the place of the fork leg studs. The wiring and was a little tight but I was able to get the slack needed without replacing any wires or cables. I have the stock beach bars. Use lock tight on the threads. Do not tighten the top cap as to crush the rubber bushings. I had the new risers delivered in less than 7 days. I love the look.
These risers are perfect! On my 1995 FXSTS they easily clear the dash with over an inch to spare and when combined with my baby apes they really add to the looks of the bike! The rubber mounting is also a welcome addition after riding with the stock setup so long. The original risers were over tightened until they contacted the triple tree, thus rendering the internal rubber bushings useless.
I have18" bars and with original risers they kept moving, these solved that problem and the look great. Highly recommend
nice well made product, looks good on my springer bobber
Contruction and finish is excellent ~ But these do NOT clear the Dash on my 2001 FXSTS. I had asked tech before purchase to confirm that these would clear the speedo.....I guess they where wrong. JP stood up and took them back with a full refund...just wish they would change the fitment portion or make them 1/2 taller - They did look nice tho
Great looking, easy install - perfect look for the FXSTS. Very happy with product and service.
I purchased these for my 2006 HD FLSTSCI and they look & work like a dream. Old School look and great functionality if you want just a little bit more height & relaxation in your arms vs. the stock setup. Easy to install with basic shop tools & basic mechanical know-how. Excellent fitment. Be aware that stock brake line & wire harnesses from both sides of handlebar just barely long enough. In fact, you'll prob have to loosen them both & draw all slack out of each for proper handlebar axial rotation. Clutch & throttle cables have plenty of slack. Don't overtighten & crush grommets; leave some play for vibration dampening. Great product.
These risers are well made and fit nicely on my '03 FLSTS. They greatly improve the riding position for smaller-statured folks. My only gripe is the fact that there was no stop or detent for the top caps, so you can keep screwing them down and crushing the rubber grommets, not knowing when to stop. There were no instructions.
Milwaukee Twins 1-1/4 Drag Bars for springer looked great and fit as advertized.
A really good product alot for the money.
