Wish I could give it negative stars, chinese junk. The run/off switch was shorted internally to ground, tested it with my fluke meter after popping the circuit breaker on the bike. In order to use the bike I just bypassed it. After dealing with this the blinker push button broke in half before I even clamped the push buttons into the switch housing. After soldering an old blinker push button into the housing from my old contols, I was finally able to mount the controls. The push buttons barely work correctly. This set is of such poor quality I am not even going to try and use it now, I know it will leave me broke down on the side of the road. J&P is always great to deal with but the only way to fix this product is to stop selling it. Absolute junk. I am gold club and and have been for several years, this is by far the poorest quality product I have ever recieved from J&P.
Two problems: 1. The hand-grips are longer than the OEM hand-grips. This means that the controls are now mounted further inward on the OEM handlebars and slightly into the bend of the handlebars. So when tightening the four switch cover bolts, they put on an unnecessary strain on the switch cover resulting in a cracking same. 2. Alter the switch cover cracked, I saw that the cover is just a chrome plated piece of a plastic type of material. CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP …… I will now have to hunt for an OEM switch cover or a better after market switch cover. I also will have to go through the hassle of having the broken cover replaced. J$P is very good about that, but it is still a hassle that could have been avoided by marketing a better product.
Chrome is good switches work will and wires worked great.
Adds to the look I am going for. Not top of the line, but good quality for the price
The controls look nice. The turn, horn and starter button caps seem like they're going to fall off as I'm riding down the road though. -but- They do fit well and it was nice that they had extra long wiring harnesses.
like the chrome, fit my bike no problem..
switch was bad and it cost us 89.00 to have it fixed.
Everything that I hoped for. Good quality material. The chrome is nice. That the wires are already soldered is a big plus. It's stock, but better than stock. Thanks JP.
The controls are a perfect match to the original controls on my 1981 Sportster. All of the wires were already soldered to the switches and matched the original color code for the year which made the installation easy. All I needed to do was add the plugs for the harness. The chrome plating looked great and appears to have the same high quality as the original equipment.
the chrome finish on this part is very poor. i had to call and complain, the first set i bought the chrome was peeling off when i received it. they did send me replacement although i don't think the chrome will last very long. also, i just got the bike running, after a complete rebuild over the winter. the run switch lasted long enough for me to start and run the bike for about an hour. now its trash.
Most of the product was good quality. The switch covers were very poor quality. The chrome was peeling off. You could look at the inside and see it was not the same quailty as the rest of the items.
