These fit my straight pipes perfectly, but I think I got really lucky. I'm no mechanic, but I like to tinker, and I commute 50 miles each way to work. I just needed to dampen the straight pipe roar, and these baffles do the trick. Still loud enough to get noticed. Make sure you don't mix up inner and outer diameter, and check the length! I had to cut one of mine down due to a bend in my lower pipe.
OK, like someone else said, they DO lower the sound level somewhat; not as much as I was hoping for. They do leave the lower frequency rumble pretty much in tact while at the same time cutting down on the more offensive (for my tastes) higher frequency ear-splitting "crack" sound. I am using these in my Cycle Shack slip-ons which were too loud. I had to shorten the overall length just a little bit to make the mounting hole line up with the existing hole in the Cycle Shack mufflers because I didn't want to drill a new hole. Not a perfect solution for my problem, but for the money you can't go wrong.
Compared to the stock metal only baffles these V-Twin 10″ long baffles with fiberglass packing lowered the db level marginally but changed the frequency to a more bass and pleasant sound. To fit in the muffler about 1/4" had to be trimmed (ground) off the inside end of the baffle due to the mounting location alignment with the muffler's stock mounting hole location.
Too quiet and restrictive for my taste.
these slipped right in to my ulltima big growls. appear to be well made. took the db down lots, left with just a nice thump thump. won't wake up the neigibors babies no more. ) :. wife seems happy ) :.ultima big growls+these=costs effective set up!
great quality , fit inside my drag pipes perfect
Outside diameter is 2-1/4. Inside diameter is 1-1/4. Nice product, but the inside diameter was too small for my application. My header tubes are 1-3/4, so there is no way I can get decent flow from a 1-1/4 inch exit pipe.
they are okay but they need to be a bit longer like 16" instead of 10"
