I installed my new Progressive heavy duty shocks on my 1997 Fatboy that has 39000 miles on it. I purchased it used so I don't know what it road like when it was new. But they were obviously shot they would bottom out and was hurting my back. At first I thought installing them would be a fairly easy job, a couple of hours maybe I mean it's 4 bolts how tough can it be LOL!, well it didn't go quite as I had imagined. Once I started to work on them I quickly discovered you can't get a socket on the bolts there's not enough room. I had to go and buy a special wrench. the next obstacle was my lift / jack. Once I finally got the bolts off I soon found out I couldn't get the shock out without lowering the bike pulling the jack out from under it so I could slide the shock out from the frame. I should of had somebody there to help me. putting the new ones back on turned to be a little tricky also. Had to unstrap the bike and rock it a little to line up the last bolt. The bike almost fell over on me, craped my pants a little. Once they were installed I thought maybe I did something wrong, the bike didn't budge when I got on it and jumped up and down on it to see how the shocks felt. They came from the factory set at the lightest setting and 1 inch lower than stock height. that worked for me. So I took the old Boy out for a ride. Whoa! What a difference I wish I would have put them on sooner I live in Michigan and some of the roads can be pretty harsh for a Softail, spine crushing. These things smoothed out the road. Turned some of those harsh pot holes into butter like floating on air, almost. I love riding that bike even more now. Money well spent excellent upgrade very high quality, beautifully finished. the only negative I could say is that 2 of the bushings were not well installed fully but once I put the bolts through and tightened them down they were good to go. Going to do the front fork sliders this winter. Thanks Progressive and J&P.
Great replacement for stock from 92 FXSTC. and as usual, shipping was quick from J&P
unbelievable improvement in ride quality over stock. Love the adjustability factor. Excellent value for the ride improvement per dollar spent!
The wife loves them used to replace stock shocks that had 129K on them
Got my new shocks they went on fairly easy and they work great! I should have gotten them a year ago it would have saved me a lot of work. They were a lot of money but worth it.
Look good and very effective

no complaints here. jp shipped my shocks immediately. these shocks not only look great and installation was not a problem. my 99 night train feels and rides as good as ever.
Excellent shocks. Install was easy install as was adjustments, however it took forever to get these from the manufacturer. J&P was excellent as always.
