I owned a Transition Series II prior to this. Here are a few good and bad differences: - Collar strap is shorter on the III and subsequently snags my ties, The longer strap on the II did not do this. - Size runs the same between the II and III in my opinion. It is a snug fit, and the adjustment straps would only be used by super skinny people. - The left sleeve ID card pocket on the II is too small now on the III to fit an ID card! Sucks for those of use who work on a military base. - Cuff piping and velcro closures on the III are much improved, although one of my velcro closures came unglued from the rubber backing. - Bottom cargo pockets no longer have zipper closures. I have not tested in the rain yet...so jury is still out. - Overall still a great textile jacket. Very warm and comfortable. I am 5' 9", 195 lbs, 44 chest, and the Large fits me great. I wear the lined jacket over my dress shirt and ride to work in sub freezing temps with no issues.
