I will try to keep emotion out of this. In researching cooling fan units I chose JIMS unit for it's dual function, horn and fan. The add offered the thermostat. My buddy also ordered one we both installed days prior to our trip to Canada. Installs went as instructed, but I requested from JIMS a wiring schematic, they did not supply, said the install diagram was all I would get. Had my doubts about the Tstat, it appears less than robust. After installed the horn was weak at best, my radio is louder, sent email about horn adjust, after 4th email that finally answered and said no adjustment, said I should find a spot to mount my original horn. I took their assembly apart found the adjustment screw and their mfg, flaw corrected it all with shims. Now good with horn. Took off on trip after 1st day of 250 miles, noticed rattle from the cooler, the lower stud/bolt broke, I went to hardware store and globbed silicone around the bolt to hold it for trip, it worked. My buddies on the same night Tstat quit working, we jumped around it and it worked. My Tstat started to have intermittent problems, it will be wired around. I would not recommend this product, way too expensive for such an under engineered item.
I am ordering my second one. Have one on my Dyna, this one for my Ultra Classic. I must say this thing really makes a difference. Harleys are air cooled, and if they are not moving, they are not cooling. This fan really helps when stuck in a traffic crawl.
First off it does fit a 2013 HD Street Glide FLHX. 2nd, the horn sounds like an anemic Sportster horn. 3rd, it only fits with a stock shifter rod. Any shifter rod with a larger diameter than stock will not clear the bottom bracket. The fan work very well.
Installed this cooling fan on my 2005 Road King. Now when I get stuck in traffic crawl my motor can get some relief. Also installed a Jagg oil cooler for normal use.
This is well built and the design is well thought out. Everything fit just the way it was supposed to.
