Went together like nothing. Fit in perfectly. Took it out for spin before the rain hit and it was just smooth as glass even with my 126 attached to it. Much lighter and simpler in design than the HD unit. Soon as rain stops I'll take it out and beat on it a little but, should be just fine.

Looking forward to fitting on my project. Reeks of quality

The weight difference between this compensator gear and the OEM style is huge. The instructions come with pictures so it makes it easy to change. And you can't beat the price.

I needed to go with a 25-tooth sprocket and couldn't find a traditional compensating assembly in a 25-Tooth. So I tried the BDL new style compensator (J&P P/N600-017). So far so good. I'm running it on a 103" Shovel in a 1977 FXE and was worried about it holding up. It's a 3-piece design with the sprocket running on a threaded arbor and a collar on the outside. The sprocket has a bit of play and rubs against a teflon washer on each side of it. So when you accelerate, it screws into the sprocket pulling it into the arbor towards the motor, and when backing off it unscrews towards the outer collar. It moves just enough for the give and take needed to smooth out the primary. I was concerned about the big motor ripping out the threads, but BDL assured me it would hold up and it is included in their competitor clutch drive kit. The only thing I had to do was ditch the orginal old style alternator rotor with the built in spacer to a later rotor. Gave me an excuse to upgrade to a higher output setup. Simple...and less costly. Just alignment with the clutch basket. There is a 24-tooth also. I needed the 25T because the BDL clutch shell is a 36-Tooth instead of the normal 37 and needed the proper chain slack.
