Installed one on another tranny previously, flawless, HD should change all their scissors shifters to this model.

perfect fit in my 91 5speed

great item

Just what I needed

5 by

The OEM component that it replaced failed at the weld because of poor penetration. It looks like the Baker units weld is much better , I hope it lasts longer than OEM .

This pawl is very hard to adjust in my 2002 Jims 6 speed transmission.

5 by

The welds look good, ordered a Baker 6 speed gear set, so I thought better change the pawl at the same time

Quality part from Baker Drivetrain. The weld was as it should be, good penetration and nicely beaded. The OEM component that it replaced failed at the weld because of poor penetration. The part by Baker installed easily and hopefully will last a lifetime as it is an involved job to get at this part because of the tranny being a reverse unit for sidecar use.

Worth every penny. Makes my bike shift better than it ever has.

Ok, your shifter pawl return spring has snapped (a common occurence). When I found out how far I needed to tear down the tranny just to get to rachet pawl, I decided to spend the extra $25 for the beefier "Baker" unit. With the Baker unit they have done away with pawl plate (1 less moving part, less wiggle),they've used a noticably thicker rectangular spring, so it should last a lot longer, very clean weld on the shifter shaft, and....the part fits like a glove. A very well made aftermarket part The added bonus...when I rode the bike, I noticed a much firmer, positive feeling shift. Would I recommend this part?....Absolutely
