Customer Reviews for Custom Chrome Kick-Start Kit

Instructions suck. You will need a trap door puller, I made one. A stock 87 and up cable with a bare wire of 2 3/4" is not long enough for the new style ramp. I had one made at 3 1/4" after grinding a lot of material away to allow for the ball and ramp style actuator. I also had to relocated the kicker gear stop so it didn't hit my leg.

Directions could be much better. Sticks out about a inch more then stock. Took a little fine tuneing but it works

Important Product Notes

• May require modification of exhaust to allow proper fit

• FXR models may require FXST cable

• Installation on L1990-99 models requires 630-124 clutch adjusting screw

• Stock dip stick will not work with this kit, purchase dip stick 620-716 separately

• While this will bolt to Twin Cam, it may be difficult to start, as the ignition has approximately a one revolution delay for diagnostics and timing calibration. Also if the engine has an aftermarket module like Crane Cams ignition or Dynai ignition , it will not start, as these modules have a 1.5 to 2 revolution delay built into them. On Evos, Crane Cams ignition with kick-start switch may be used, but Dyna 2000 modules need to be reprogrammed to allow use of kick-start to eliminate the built-in delay. Stock Evo ignitions are ok to use with kick-start
