Must be patient when installing, lots of loosening and wiggling the brackets around. Use a putty knife behind the bracket when you tighten the 4 bolts to the radio bracket, the nuts like to push themselves out of place. Once you are finished, the brackets are much better than the stock ones.
these brackets will cure the cracking/breaking problem with the OEM brackets. Not the easiest thing to install, but wroth the time.
Excellent product at a great price!!!
I recently found my HD fairing brackets broken again ! yes again.. They feel lighter and you can clearly see the advantages of their design both in material and structural design. I am sure these will hold up to the CA roads or nothing will.
Best solid built pair of nylon brackets made. I bought these to fix the garbage ones that Harley-Davidson puts in from the factory. mine had broke from a fall and the faring was really loose and I seen these in the J&P cycles catalog and got them and I'm very pleased with them.
I originally bought the bracket repair kit which is way too much money for what it is. I returned it and bought the good replacement brackets. They are well made (in America!) and come with good hardware and instructions. I had taken my inner fairing off to get it painted so I found that installing them to the inner fairing prior to putting it on the bike was the easiest. It went pretty smooth. I think these are a good deal and a more permanent solution to the weak stock brackets.
A little tricky to install, but not too bad. Take a few pictures for reference. Really adds support to the fairing. I like it.
This brace definitely adds to the stability of the faring. Much more stable than the thin stock brace. I have installed two of these now, the first time took a while but it is worth it.
Looks to be a strong update for under the fairing. Already replaced the speaker braces so I figured this would be need. It's winter, can't ride and it makes a good winter project.
