After less than 2 years both brackets broke. Too much stress for a single bolt. I was fortunate the right side didn't get lodged into my back wheel.

I have a 2002 FXST with a BOBTAIL FENDER...I had my bags tied up as best I could, to my turn signal on the rear frame strut--bad idea. It came loose one day and the bag hopped onto the brake rotor and cut right through the bag. Since I have had these new bag supports, everything is working fine. They're great for a sport bike, and don't interfere with other things, like my back rest bracket on the fender rail.

Not built to the specs for a Softtail. They stick out too much. Lucky for me I have a cutting torch and welder and also I know how to paint. This is the only thing i ever got from J and P that was not on the $.

 tanner49 Posted:

excellant, good phone imfo. also

 brucedusty98 Posted:

Chrome was excellent. Shipping was very good. Same as other reviews that the left side was formed alittle different than right side. All in all, was an excellent purchase

 Mickace Posted:

They bolt on nicely to the H-D quick release backrest hardware ('97 Fatboy) Like the others have said one side has a bigger angle and make my throw over bags stick out at a crooked angle on the left side of bike, don't understand this. I am going to have to have one heated with a blow torch to straighten then rebend at a different angle to make them even. If they were the same angle these brackets would get a better review. J&P Cycles delivered on time with no problems.

Totally happy with the product. The HD dealers said I couldn't use them because I had a quick disconnect sissy bar on my fatboy but this actually slipped right under the support and worked great. My toss across saddlebags were getting into the brake rotor and this fixed me right up. Thanks J&P

 pfkiersey Posted:

Look good, easy to install, but they are on different angles on each side ,making them look crooked from the rear.Drive tran side is out farther from bike than brake side. Can be made to look strait.

These are excellent. I bought them for my '07 Deluxe so that I could use throw-over saddlebags on longer trips. It only takes a few seconds to attach and remove them altough I'm sure most folks would just leave them on. 100% satisfied.

 ecdriver Posted:

Single point saddlebag brackets are exactly as described. Allows use of over the fender saddlebags with the detachable sissy-bar. Bolts that came with the bracket were the wrong thread (fine vs regular). But, now I have 2 if I need them for something else. Shipping using the USPS and FEDEX combo was slower than just the mail. Tracking said there was no such order until the day before it arrived. Then it said it was delivered--but wasn't. Finally got here and all was well.

These do stick out a little farther than I would like, BUT having the detachable backrest this is the only one I have found that will work with the existing hardware. There may be others but this one I know works.

They look great and work well.

 JarheadFLSTI Posted:

Small/low profile...they look great even without the bags on the bike....great quality and definitely easy to install

 davecaviglia Posted:

Good quality but, the right side angle causes the bag to stick out at an unsightly angle. Why is the left and right side different designs (1 is larger than the other)?

 mikemojo1 Posted:

Product fit on bike great and was good quality. Great product at great price.

 ganarask Posted:

Great quality - easy to install. Much easier than relocating tail lights to put on saddle bag brackets for Dyna Low Rider.

 porras Posted:

The mounts are sent with the wrong size bolt for the 2006 Fat Boy. I had to use the original bolts that came with the bike. They are a little short, but went through. Re-look the size of the bolts to correct this problem, and the product would be fine. Posted:

The support brackets are stout and easy to install. The only complaint I have is how far they cause the bags to hang out off of the bike. Will have to re-form to get the bags to hang right.
