Product as described, good enough... not so easy to install due to you must remove the top screw from each rear sock absorber, mines expanded a little bit causing that the new screws did not fit well... trying to compress the shock was difficult... better lift the by the rear fender and with the other hand fitting the screw in...

 Nosage Posted:

When installed, they pushed the bags out around three inches from the shocks. After pushing them in closer for an all around slimmer rear end, rust began to show through at the welds in a month.

 greekgod Posted:

easy to install just as good as factory

08 Sportster. Brackets worked fine but the bolts that came with it did not thread in properly so just had to buy different bolts.

 dvstup Posted:

Installed these on my '04 XL1200C. The fit was perfect and the brackets and hardware are quality material.

 Madsquirrel Posted:

High quality, easy to install. I would have preferred them in gloss black but did not see that offered.

 cleoson Posted:

Bag supports fit great and installed easy. Gives the bike a great new look.

Exceptional fit and performance.

 dogtick Posted:

Excellent value, beautiful chrome finish and a perfect fit.The only thing I suggest is use a spring compressor to hold the shocks.Holds my saddlebags perfectly and gives the big an awesome look from behind.Much better price than Harley!!

 tmigala Posted:

Well made, but did not fit my 2006 sporty XL 1200. I still used it by cutting it up and adapting it.

 buctoff Posted:

The only problem I had was the bolts that came with it were'nt long enough. Because of my sissy bar bolted at the same place. But I found the right size bolts at the hardware store.

 aplusautobody Posted:

Nice product but the rear bolts were not long enough. The bike was an 05 883L. Needed to be about 1/2 inch longer.

 kcasenhiser Posted:

Brackets fit my '06 Sportster 1200c great. No complaints on this product.

 totenkopfs Posted:

Brackets came with 2.25in. 5/16in button head bolts. Bolts needed to be 3in. long to tie in through strut and nut under fender. Also recieved no instructions so I was cuaght off gaurd that my shocks would come completely off strut as bolt was being loosened. I would have supported suspension prior to instalation had I known that. Other than those two issues the product is fine.

 bigtoad Posted:

Supports were a perfect fit. You can`t see them regardless with saddlebags on anyhow. The only problem I had was, I have a backrest with permanent sideplates and the bolt that was sent wasn't long enough to go through it. I had to buy a longer bolt.

 taggillespie Posted:

I was told that having a detachable sissy bar would prevent me from placing this on to my 2004 Sportster 1200. This was incorrect, I just had to stop by a home and garden store to get a deferent set of bolts to use do to the extra length that was required. Other than that I am very happy with this.

 3juniorfan Posted:

The saddlebag supports bolted right up and I am very pleased with the product and price.

 brenmangood Posted:

These get the job done. I was just wondering why they don't send replacement Torx bolts. They send Hex bolts and the one that they call 3/16" is actually a metric 5mm. In the directions it tells you that you will need a 3/4" combo wrench, but you actually use a 5/16" inch allen wrench.

The "SADDLEBAG SUPPORTS 04-05 XL" fit the '06 XL 1200R very well. However, if you have a detachable backrest, some of the bolts supplied in the kit will be too short. Two 3-1/2 bolts have to be purchased localy to complete the installation. If the 2 bolts would have been included I would have rated this product as "best".
