Had to return wrong item sold, however customer service is outstanding at J&P!!

this thing is very cool and convenient.

the rack is an easy installation and very well costructed

 GaryAJUSA Posted:

You MUST have a sissy bar (square bar type) in addition to this rack. The magnets are not strong enough to keep the rack upright. I added a couple of rare-earth magnets which doesn't show and the rack stays up-right.

 Turbydyna Posted:

good but not strong

 alayton14 Posted:

the rack is unobtrusive and not noticable when folded up, and its solid enough for all the luggage i care to carry when its down. all in all i think kuryaken did a really good job with this

 miker84 Posted:

This is just what I was looking for. Works very well and exactly matches the contour of my HD sissy bar.

 gscott Posted:

I like the fold down luggage rack I purchased for my 2003 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail because it matches the shape of the existing seat support and is not easily noticeable when folded up. It also looks nice when folded down. The quality of the product is very good with the exception of the fact that when I ride the magnet is not strong enough to keep it in the upright position and it falls down. I have tried tightening up the allen bolts, but have not had a chance to try it out yet to see if that works. It didn't tighten very much so I'm thinking it won't.

When I ordered this I found that it doesn't fit my 2006 FXSTB wide tire, but the return process was as easy as ever. If it would have fit I would be 100% satisfied. Thanks guys for a great mail order system.

The fold-down luggage rack is great. Invisible when you're not using it, keeps my Fat Boy's lines clean. Very handy. Good quality, too.

GREAT IDEA. IT CLEANED UP THE BACK OF MY SCOOTER AND COMPLIMENTS MY NEW TAIL LIGHT ASSY. NOTE: Had to drill and tap existing back seat back rest to attach new rack on my '89 FXSTC. You may want to included in your product discription you may have to drill & tap if you don't have the removable type backrest.

It is true that the magnet system to keep the rack upright when not in use is inadequate. Otherwise, this is an excellent product if you want a luggage rack, but don't like the looks of them when not in use.

 photorat Posted:

This is a really good rack and it doesn't look like crap when there's nothing on it because it folds up and matches the lines on the stock back rest. It folds up and stays up with the help of some kind of very powerful magnet. I would however strongly suggest having a lay down licence plate bracket if you have an above the fender licence plate on your bike (Fat Boy or Heritage, etc) as there's not much clearance. Mine rubbed and bent the plate and lightly scratched the rack. The lay down plate bracket would fix that. Extra slice of pie to the guys at J&P. Thanks

 tbobbitt1 Posted:

Works for what it was intended to be used for, a luggage rack. However, it didn't stay in the up position when not in use. Magnet system is impractical for this aplication. Should use a different locking system.

 jasciadini Posted:

Tends to drop even with [the] magnet. Trying a conversion, will advise. Properly installed and looks good, but will drop when on semi-rough roads.

NOTE: Check fender clearance before use
