This was a simple drop-in for my 87 FXLR stock motor. I'm running it with a Super E carb and drag pipes with reversion cones. It runs great! Idle sounds a bit more lumpy than stock. The power feels the same as before 0 - 3000 RPM. 3000 - 3500 feels a bit more powerful. 3500 - 4000 and it really starts to wind up. 4000 - 6000 and it really takes off and doesn't stop pulling until my 6000 RPM limiter is hit, and it goes 4k - 6k fast. I understand bumping compression up a bit more will also improve the cam performance, so that is my next step, but I'm perfectly happy with this cam in my stock motor as is.

Came in good condition. Great fix for bad cam selection . Replaced SS520 cam EV27 is a great cruiser cam. 45-50+ MPG good low end and smooth on the highway.

Would not have ordered had I known that the engine case requires "trimming" to create clearance for inner lobe of cam. Power improvement curve 3-5000 rpm. Increases time that exhaust remains open, which reduces engine breaking when downshifting. Perhaps I didn't completely understand all of the "cause and effect" results of changing cam. If changing cam, plan on upgrading ignition at the same time. Would have returned if hadn't installed.
