good bars at a great price. only complaint is oenings at grip end could be longer for wires

I installed these on a 1999 Honda Shadow ACE Tourer. I heard that many were able to use the bars with factory cables on Shadows, but I wasn't sure how it would go with my specific model. I was happy to find that the factory cables (throttle / clutch / choke) all had plenty of slack to allow free movement of the bars from lock to lock steering. All electrical wiring harnesses were long enough, as well. The only adjustment I made was to the hydraulic brake line. Where it's mounted to the bracket on the left side of the loweer fork triple tree, I unbolted the mount and remounted it about an inch higher to give the line some slack. This still allowed enough slack for the forks to extend / rebound without pulling the line too tight. Overall, real happy with the bars and the new rise / height over stock. I wasn't liking the stock bar height...hands too low, but these bars position my hands just below shoulder height ( I'm 5'9") with the factory handlebar riders. Very comfortable. Great bars if you're thinking about some taller bars for your Shadow ACE Tourer.

put them on my 2005 honda vtx 1300 R in conjuction with the factory risers, works great! Did NOT have to change the cables, or mess with wiring, had plenty of slack in both, in hindsight I could have gotten the 12 in bars, but these are very comfortable. if you put these on a vtx, you will have to modify the bar, you have to drill holes so that the turn signal housing will clamp down on the bar properly, on my bike the throttle and starter button housing fell into the pre-drilled holes just fine. all in all, very happy with these! shipping was fast, and the bar came in with no damage

Good bars for the price. Put on wifes Sportster 48. Can sit straight up now. Big difference in comfort. No dimples for external wiring. Had to wire internally. Go ahead and enlarge wire holes before you start and you won't cuss as much.

Handlebars Measuring Guide

To identify your handlebar needs, we recommend measuring your current handlebar's dimensions as a baseline.

To most closely match the measuring system used on our site, we recommend the following method:

Push a table against a wall. Prop up the handlebars in the corner where the table meets the wall, then rotate the bars forward until the front of the bars touch the wall. In this case, rise is the distance from the table to the highest point on the bars, with pullback measured from the wall to the farthest point back.

Diagram of Handlebar Measurements
Diagram of Handlebar Measurements
Width: Measure between the two outside points of the handlebars.
Center Width: Measure between the two inside points of the handlebars.
Rise: Measure from the base of the handlebars to their highest point.
Pullback: Measure from the front of the bars to the furthest point back.

Additional Considerations:

  • Handlebars for Springer Softails are different than bars for other bikes. Learn More
  • We offer bars in two groupings by year of fitment — pre–1982 and later models. The differences are the result of a change of configuration in the switch housings. Learn More
