If you would like to make your sportster turn in better ,handle like it should ,put on a set you will be gassed !!! I put a set on my 1200 R installation is a simple deal .I have raised the fork tubes up on the bike about 1"& 3/4"s this will make your bike turn in much better .I installed the clip ons on top of the upper triple clamp, because I'm a short guy, under the clamp like the directions suggest was too far a reach, any how you can use your stock control pods and levers even those bulky housings dont look bad on these bars. You can get quite a bit of range adjustments for ergos and a little riding and tweaking here and there and you are dialed in! Caution if you have never ridden a bike with this type set up watch it at first because of how much quicker your machine is going to turn, now go get some rear sets on and prepare to blow minds of some of those ricey riders,There is hidden amounts of good handling in these Sportsters,RSD bars are one of the best ways to get some.P.S. if you have a 1200 R you will need make up a mount for your gauges because the gauges are mounted off your stock handle bar risers.Good stuff get some!

Handlebars Measuring Guide

To identify your handlebar needs, we recommend measuring your current handlebar's dimensions as a baseline.

To most closely match the measuring system used on our site, we recommend the following method:

Push a table against a wall. Prop up the handlebars in the corner where the table meets the wall, then rotate the bars forward until the front of the bars touch the wall. In this case, rise is the distance from the table to the highest point on the bars, with pullback measured from the wall to the farthest point back.

Diagram of Handlebar Measurements
Diagram of Handlebar Measurements
Width: Measure between the two outside points of the handlebars.
Center Width: Measure between the two inside points of the handlebars.
Rise: Measure from the base of the handlebars to their highest point.
Pullback: Measure from the front of the bars to the furthest point back.

Additional Considerations:

  • Handlebars for Springer Softails are different than bars for other bikes. Learn More
  • We offer bars in two groupings by year of fitment — pre–1982 and later models. The differences are the result of a change of configuration in the switch housings. Learn More
