To have it on correctly , just get down and loosen the 4 bolts with a 10mm deep socket. The pan nicely covers the soft parts . I found several rocks stuck under my motor that never would have found without the pan job being performed. I am always looking for subtle improvements and better the look so I chose the aluminum pan because it matched well with the color already on the bike. I painted both stands with aluminum paint to change it up and it turned out eye catching.
