Buffalo Chip Moto Stampede Giveaway - 2020 HARLEY-DAVIDSON LOW RIDER S

Build your own bike using J&P Cycles parts, which offers everything you need to start building your own custom motorcycle. Our 2020 Harley-Davidson Low Rider S project is a perfect example of how anyone can use J&P Cycles parts and knowledge to create or finish their own DIY build. We have broken it down to all the parts used and technique performed. See below for detailed parts list and video. See rules here.

When we teamed up with the Sturgis Buffalo Chip® and GEICO® for this year's giveaway bike, we decided to go with a brand spanking new Low Rider S as the pallet for our customization. The Harley-Davidson Low Rider S has such clean lines and solid stance, we didn’t want to completely change the lines of the bike, we just wanted to amplify them. Being huge fans of the new Softail model chassis and Milwaukee Eight powerplant, we started there with our upgrades. We replaced the rear shock with a Progressive 465 unit and added an extra inch of height to increase the lean angle. To cope with the enhanced suspension, and new lean angle abilities, we needed some sticky rubber to keep it painted on the pavement, so we shod our trusty steed with some Metzeler Cruistecs. The four valve M8 motor just needs to be uncorked a bit so we opted for a Vance and Hines combo to get the heavy breathing done. A black Rogue intake handles the acquisition of fresh air while a stainless 2-into-1 race pipe gets rid of the exhaust gasses, and added tire-shredding horsepower as a result. The stock lighting is heinous as always so a couple sets of Kuryakyn Kellerman lights handled the turn signals, keeping them out of sight until needed. The Lectric taillight smoothed things out in the back with a thinner laydown taillight and worked perfectly with our curved laydown license plate holder. For hand and foot controls, the homeboys at Biltwell got us sorted out with their new Alumicore grips and Punisher footpegs to keep us in control . Performance Machine topped it all off with a sleek set of Vision Arrow series mirrors to keep things visible without looking ridiculous. And, for added flavor, used a mix of gold leaf and gold metal flake paint, coated in candy gold, keeping the look gangster while still paying homage to that original Low Rider S look and feel. And just think, all this radness can be yours if you enter to win. Come August, you could be live on the stage at the Buffalo Chip, with the bike in your possession, and some of the best roads in the country awaiting your arrival.
