Motorcycle Mirrors FAQ's

Why do my motorcycle mirrors vibrate so much?
Vibration is just a fact of life with motorcycles, especially V-Twins! That high-frequency buzz can make your mirrors useless. Some mirrors have rubber "isolation" mounts to help, but often the best fix is to make sure your handlebars have "bar-end weights" installed, which can dampen those vibrations.

What are "bar-end" mirrors?
Bar-end mirrors are a custom style that, instead of sitting on your controls, mount in the hollow end of your handlebars. They look very clean and "low-profile" and often give you a better view of your blind spot since your arms aren't in the way.

How do I know if new mirrors will fit my bike?
You need to check the "thread pitch." Most Japanese bikes use a 10mm thread, but Yamaha is famous for using a reverse-thread on the right side. Harley-Davidsons use a different, SAE thread. The easiest way to get it right is to buy mirrors that are listed as fitting your exact model.

Are small, custom mirrors a good idea?
They can look amazing, but it's a trade-off. Those tiny "micro" mirrors look super clean, but they give you a tiny field of view. You're trading a lot of safety and situational awareness for that custom look, so it's something to think about before you buy.
