I love choppers and I love riding off road, so I decided to build a classic chopper with some off-road influence so I could deviate from the black top and rip down a logging trail if I felt so inclined.
Using a Sportster engine really helps keep costs down because of the unitized case. Overall there is probably less than $10k in the build.
Since its a frame off build from the ground up there is a fair amount of time in the build. I probably have 200-250 hours in the total build.
All of the frame tabs and mounts had to be fabbed and welded to the frame, small things like top engine mounts, kickstands and rear brake tabs. The fender struts also had to be fabricated to hold the custom rear fender. The rear fender is an Indian Scout front fender that I trimmed up and re-mounted as a rear fender.
