Soon as we got our hands on a 2020 CVO Street Glide we couldn’t wait to throw it on the dyno and get some real-world, rear wheel performance numbers. We took it to an independent third party, Southern Oregon Hot Bikes, and had owner Roger run it on his Dynojet 200 for us. Roger’s been tuning bikes and building engines in Central Point, Oregon, for over 20 years and we thank him for helping us out.

2020 Milwaukee-Eight 117 Horsepower and Torque

Horsepower - 93.8 hp @ 4,850 rpm

Torque - 108 lb-ft. @ 3,590 rpm

As expected, the powerful V-Twin with a 4.075-inch bore and a 4.5-inch stroke has plenty of low-end pop as it’s already pumping out 90 lb-ft. of torque at just over 2,400 rpm. At 2,700 rpm the M8 117 hits the 100 lb-ft. plateau and stays up there until 4,900 rpm. The result at the throttle is a powerband that hits strong pretty much off idle and continues to flex its muscle into the midrange and top end. The added top end allows riders to wind out the CVO’s gears and stay on the gas a little bit longer than a standard Street Glide.

A peek at the horsepower curve shows it’s extremely linear as it climbs to its peak of 93.8 hp @ 4,850 rpm. This reflects in a powerband that is smooth and even. It stays above the 90+hp threshold from 4,600 to 5,750 rpm before redlining around 5,900 rpm. The two areas bolstered most by the Milwaukee-Eight 117 are top-end and roll-on.
