S&S Cycle 551 Easy Start Camshaft Kit For Harley Twin Cam

S&S Easy Start Cam Kits belong on the short list for high performance builds and engines where reliability matters most. They are built for strong power, but the design also makes starting far easier without relying on compression releases, oversized batteries or expensive starters. Each cam uses a spring loaded centrifugal compression release lobe machined into the heel of the exhaust lobe. At cranking speed, it slightly opens the exhaust valve during the compression stroke to reduce strain on the starter. Once the engine starts and reaches 800 RPM, the lobe retracts from the tappet roller path so the engine runs with normal operation and full compression.
